Guido van Rossum's Q&A from the Vancouver Python Workshop

Guido van RossumI had a great time at the Vancouver Python Workshop. Kudo's and thanks to the organizers and sponsors.

Saturday started with a Q&A session with Guido van Rossum, Python's creator. People who lead open source projects tend to be very interesting people and Guido is no exception. Among many things he discussed his position at Google ("everything at Google is bigger than what you are thinking"), dynamic language development in Ruby and JavaScript, Python on cell phones, Python in Education, and Python's every increasing acceptance.

I recorded the session and with the permission of the conference organizers and Guido van Rossum make it available here on ourmedia. A bit of a warning, the microphone placement wasn't great so the audio quality isn't the best.
